The Monaco E-Prix 2019 (officially: 2019 FIA Formula E Monaco E-Prix ) took place on May 11th at the Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo and was the ninth race of the FIA Formula E championship 2018/19 . It was the third Monaco E-Prix, which has been held every two years since 2015.

After the Paris E-Prix , Robin Frijns led the drivers' standings with one point ahead of André Lotterer and with eleven points ahead of António Félix da Costa . In the team standings, DS Techeetah was seven points ahead of Virgin Racing and 13 points ahead of Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler .
With Sebastien Buemi (twice) the only former winners entered in this race.
Daniel Abt , Buemi, Félix da Costa, José María López and Stoffel Vandoorne received a so-called fan boost in the race ; after the 23rd minute of the race, they were allowed to increase the power of their vehicle to 240 kW to 250 kW and thus up to 100 kilojoules of energy use additionally. Buemi received his 35th Fan Boost in the FIA Formula E Championship, Abt his 26th and López his third. Félix da Costa and Vandoorne each received the additional energy for the ninth time, each time this season.

In the first free practice, Lucas di Grassi set the fastest time in 50.183 seconds ahead of Sam Bird and Mitch Evans . Evans and Günther received a warning because they drove faster than the maximum permitted 50 km / h during the full course yellow. For Evans it was the second and for Günther the third warning this season.
Oliver Rowland was fastest in second free practice with a lap time of 49.847 seconds, ahead of Jean-Éric Vergne and Lotterer.
Qualifying
Qualifying began at 11:45 a.m. and took place in four groups of five or six drivers each, each group had six minutes in which the drivers could do a maximum of one timed lap with an output of 200 kW and then a maximum of one timed lap with an output of 250 kW were allowed to drive. Vergne was fastest with a lap time of 50.048 seconds.
The six fastest drivers then drove in the first six positions in the individual time trial called Superpole . Rowland secured pole position with a lap time of 0: 50.021 minutes and thus three points. The other positions were occupied by Vergne, Evans, Pascal Wehrlein , Felipe Massa and Buemi. Evans received another warning because he activated the maximum output of 250 kW 0.4 seconds too early during the Superpole .
Jérôme D'Ambrosio , Edoardo Mortara and Rowland were moved three places back because they caused collisions at the Paris E-Prix. Evans and Günther were moved ten positions back, as they had already received three warnings this season.

The race lasted 45 minutes plus one lap. Each driver had to activate the attack mode twice; after activation, the vehicle produced a maximum of 225 kW instead of 200 kW for a period of four minutes.
Vergne won the race ahead of Rowland and Massa. The remaining points were placed by Wehrlein, Buemi, Evans, Lotterer, Alex Lynn , Stoffel Vandoorne and López. The point for the fastest lap in the top ten went to Wehrlein.
Abt received a drive-through penalty after the race, which was converted into a time penalty of 33 seconds for causing a collision with Oliver Turvey . Félix da Costa was disqualified because he had used more than the maximum allowed 200 kW of power.
