The Hong Kong E-Prix 2019 (officially: 2019 HKT Hong Kong E-Prix ) took place on March 10th at the Hong Kong Central Harbourfront Circuit in Hong Kong and was the fifth race of the FIA Formula E Championship 2018/19 . It was the third Hong Kong E-Prix and the 50th race of the FIA Formula E Championship.

After the Mexico City E-Prix , Jérôme D'Ambrosio leads the drivers' standings with seven points ahead of António Félix da Costa and eight points ahead of Sam Bird . In the team standings, Mahindra Racing is ten points ahead of Envision Virgin Racing and 19 points ahead of BMW i Andretti Motorsport .
With Bird and Sébastien Buemi , two former winners competed in this race.
Daniel Abt , Buemi, Félix da Costa, Stoffel Vandoorne and Pascal Wehrlein received a so-called fan boost in the race ; after the 23rd minute of the race, they were allowed to increase the output of their vehicle to 240 kW to 250 kW and thus up to 100 kilojoules of additional energy use. Buemi received his 31st Fanboost in the FIA Formula E Championship and Abt his 22nd Felix da Costa and Vandoorne each received the additional energy for the fifth time, each time this season. Wehrlein won the Fanboost for the second time, having previously received it on his debut in Marrakech .
After the Hong Kong ePrix 2016 and the Zurich E-Prix 2018, the Hong Kong E-Prix was the third E-Prix that took place exclusively on a Sunday.

In the first free practice session, Oliver Rowland set the fastest time in 1: 09.283 minutes, ahead of André Lotterer and Jean-Éric Vergne . The training started in wet conditions, towards the end the track continued to dry out.
In the second free practice session, which started again on a wet track that dried out during practice, Robin Frijns was fastest with a lap time of 1: 09.221 minutes ahead of Rowland and Lotterer.
Qualifying
Qualifying began at 11:45 a.m. and took place in four groups of five or six drivers each, each group had six minutes in which the drivers could do a maximum of one timed lap with an output of 200 kW and then a maximum of one timed lap with an output of 250 kW were allowed to drive. It started to rain again before qualifying. Stoffel Vandoorne was fastest with a lap time of 1: 11.592 minutes. Qualifying had to be briefly interrupted after Vergne spun.
The six fastest drivers then drove in the first six positions in the individual time trial called Superpole . Vandoorne secured pole position with a lap time of 1: 11.580 minutes and thus three points. It was the first pole position and the first points for Vandoorne and HWA Racelab in the FIA Formula E championship. The other positions were occupied by Rowland, Edoardo Mortara , Lotterer, Gary Paffett and Lucas di Grassi .

The race lasted 45 minutes plus one lap. Each driver had to activate the attack mode twice; after activation, the vehicle produced a maximum of 225 kW instead of 200 kW for a period of four minutes.
Mortara won the race ahead of di Grassi and Frijns. The remaining points were placed by Daniel Abt , Felipe Massa , Bird, Mitch Evans , Paffett, Oliver Turvey and Félix da Costa. The point for the fastest race lap in the top ten went to Bird.
