The Paris E-Prix 2019 (officially: 2019 ABB FIA Formula E Paris E-Prix ) took place on April 27 at the Circuit des Invalides in Paris and was the eighth race of the FIA Formula E championship 2018/19 . It was the fourth Paris E-Prix.
report
background
After the Rome E-Prix , Jérôme D'Ambrosio led the drivers' standings with one point ahead of António Félix da Costa and three points ahead of André Lotterer . In the team standings, DS Techeetah was seven points ahead of Virgin Racing and 14 points ahead of Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler .
Contrary to the original plan, Maximilian Günther replaced Felipe Nasr again at Dragon Racing , as Nasr , who had no points in the FIA Formula E Championship , wants to prepare for the upcoming race in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship .
With Sébastien Buemi , Lucas di Grassi and Jean-Éric Vergne , all three previous winners competed in this race.
training
In the first free practice, which took place on a wet track, Lotterer set the fastest time with a lap time of 1: 10.667 minutes ahead of Buemi and Oliver Rowland . The training was interrupted by Robin Frijns after an accident and stopped a few minutes before the end after another accident by Sam Bird .
Qualifying
Qualifying started at 12:00 p.m. and took place in four groups of five or six drivers each, each group had six minutes in which the drivers had a maximum of one timed lap with an output of 200 kW and then a maximum of one timed lap with an output of 250 kW were allowed to drive. Rowland was fastest with a lap time of 1: 00.450 minutes.
The six fastest drivers then drove in the first six positions in the individual time trial called Superpole . Pascal Wehrlein secured pole position with a lap time of 1: 00.383 minutes. The other positions occupied Rowland, Buemi, Frijns, Felipe Massa and D'Ambrosio.
After qualifying, the two Mahindra drivers were disqualified because the tire pressure on their vehicles was too low. Rowland thus received the three points for pole position.
run
The race lasted 45 minutes plus one lap. Each driver had to activate the attack mode twice; after activation, the vehicle produced a maximum of 225 kW instead of 200 kW for a period of four minutes.
Frijns won the race ahead of Lotterer and Daniel Abt . The remaining points were placed by di Grassi, Günther, Vergne, Félix da Costa, Gary Paffett , Massa and Wehrlein. The point for the fastest lap in the top ten went to Frijns.
