The Paris E-Prix 2018 (officially: 2018 Qatar Airways Paris E-Prix ) took place on April 28 at the Circuit des Invalides in Paris and was the eighth race of the 2017/18 FIA Formula E championship . It was the third Paris E-Prix.

After the Rome E-Prix , Jean-Éric Vergne led the drivers' standings with 18 points ahead of Sam Bird and 37 points ahead of Felix Rosenqvist . In the team standings, Techeetah was 34 points ahead of DS Virgin and 49 points ahead of Mahindra Racing .
At NIO there was a driver change before this race: Luca Filippi , who had only scored one point in the season so far and was in 20th place in the drivers' standings, was replaced by Ma Qinghua .
With Sébastien Buemi and Lucas di Grassi , two former winners competed in this race.
Daniel Abt , Buemi and di Grassi received a so-called FANBOOST , they were allowed to increase the output of their second vehicle up to 200 kW and thus use up to 100 kilojoules of additional energy. For Abt it was the sixth, for Buemi the seventh and for di Grassi the fourth FANBOOST this season.

In the first free practice, Bird set the fastest time in 1: 01.698 minutes ahead of di Grassi and Abt. After accidents, Nelson Piquet jr. and Rosenqvist interrupted. Piquet damaged the vehicle so badly that the monocoque had to be changed.
Di Grassi was fastest in the second free practice with a lap time of 1: 00.881 minutes ahead of Vergne and Mitch Evans . This training was also interrupted by Piquet after an accident.
Qualifying
Qualifying started at 12:00 p.m. and took place in four groups of five drivers each, each group had six minutes in which the drivers had a maximum of one timed lap with an output of 170 kW and then a maximum of one timed lap with an output of 200 kW were allowed to drive. Piquet did not take part in qualifying because his two vehicles were damaged after the accidents in free practice and did not qualify for the E-Prix. Vergne was fastest with a lap time of 1: 01.508 minutes.
The five fastest drivers then drove in the first five positions in the individual time trial called Superpole . Vergne secured pole position with a lap time of 1: 01.144 minutes and thus three points. The other positions were occupied by Bird, André Lotterer , Maro Engel and António Félix da Costa .
Mitch Evans was relegated to ten grid positions due to a gearbox change. Since this was not completely possible from 13th place, he was also given a time penalty of five seconds. Edoardo Mortara was moved three places back because he drove too fast in free practice with red flags.

The race lasted 49 laps.
Vergne won the race ahead of di Grassi and Bird. Engel, Buemi, Lotterer, Abt, Rosenqvist, Oliver Turvey and José María López occupied the remaining points .
The first three positions in the drivers' standings remained unchanged, while Vergne extended his lead over Bird and Rosenqvist. Techeetah stayed ahead of DS Virgin in the team standings, Audi was now third.
