origin

Francesco Felice Alberti d'Enno was born in Trento in 1701 as the son of the castle captain of Levico and Pergine Gervasio Alberti d'Enno and the Countess Barbara von Bertolazzi. The Alberti d'Enno family came from Denno in the Val di Non and was raised to the rank of imperial count in 1714. The Trento bishop Giuseppe Vittorio Alberti d'Enno was a great-uncle of Francesco Felice.

Act

Alberti d'Enno studied from 1720 to 1724 at the Collegium Germanicum in Rome. He succeeded his uncle as cathedral capitular in Trento in 1724 and was ordained priest in 1726. In 1680 he published the annals of the diocese of Trento from 1022 to 1540. After Leopold Ernst von Firmian's resignation as coadjutor of the diocese of Trento, Francesco Felice was elected by the cathedral chapter on March 6, 1756 as coadjutor with succession rights. On July 26th he received papal confirmation and the titular diocese of Miletopolis . He took possession of his diocese on October 25 and was ordained bishop on November 14, 1756.

As coadjutor, he reversed some of the measures taken by his predecessor Firmian. The consistory was abolished and replaced by a vicar general in 1756 , and the cathedral chapter was given back its participation rights. The patrician families got the exemption back from the ordinary courts. Alberti d'Enno supported the patriciate of Trent and his own family, so three nephews, a cousin and a brother of his sister-in-law became members of the cathedral chapter.

After the death of Bishop Dominikus Anton von Thun on September 1, 1758, Alberti d'Enno followed. On September 27 he received from Emperor Franz I. The investiture . The new construction of the seminary, made possible by a donation from Don Lorenzo Borzi, failed due to the death of the bishop. The public burning of Girolamo Tartarotti's works led to a conflict with his hometown Rovereto .

In 1759 Castel Corno in Val Lagarina was attached to the bishopric. Alberti d'Enno's tenure was marked by the struggle for the independence of the bishopric, and church reform was neglected. After his death on December 31, 1762, he was buried in the Cathedral of Trento .
