Francisco Sobrado
Francisco José Sobrado Reyes (born April 1, 1980 in Bucharest , Romania ) is a Swedish actor of Chilean origin.
Francisco Sobrado , who had grown up in Stockholm since 1981, became internationally known for his role as Belal Al-Mukthar in the television series Verdict Revised . Here he plays a Swede with a supposedly Arab migration background who works as an advanced law student in the investigation team of the lecturer and former star lawyer Markus Haglund ( Mikael Persbrandt ).
His film debut was in 2002 in the small but notable Swedish horror thriller production Invisible - Gefangen im Jenseits , where he played a minor supporting role.
In his native Sweden, Francisco Sobrado, who studied at the Gothenburg University Theater School from 2000 to 2004 , also works as a theater actor. In the following years he had engagements at the Backa Teater , Teater Sörmland and TURteatern. Since 2010 he has appeared in productions by the Riksteatern . Sobrado belonged with Pernilla August , Sanna Krepper , Ann Petrén and Jakob Eklund at that theater ensemble that Björn Runge's acting job ( Uppdraget ) on 10 March 2007 at the State Theater in Stockholm for the first time aufführte directed Runge. Sobrado had already worked with Björn Runge in 2005 on his film Mun mot mun .
At the Stockholm State Theater, under the direction of Dritëro Kasapis , Sobrado plays the title role in a modern staging of the classic William Shakespeare play Othello , which transports the events into today's Middle East . Kirsti Torhaug plays Desdemona and Douglas Jackson the Jago . The play, which is a co-production of the State Theater with the Dala Theater and the Blekinge / Kronaberg theater region, premiered on October 6, 2011 in Falun and is touring other Swedish cities, such as B. Falun, Sandviken , Söderhamn , Ljusdal , Östersund , Sundsvall , Umeå , Haparanda , Skellefteå , Västervik , Kalmar , Växjö , Lund , Ystad , Hässleholm , Falkenberg , Varberg , Kungsbacka , Halmstad , Trollhättan , Karlstad , Örebro , Motala and Gävle . The piece is performed completely with subtitles for Swedish, Finnish and Arabic for the deaf.
