Franz Christoph Janneck
Franz Christoph Janneck (born October 3, 1703 in Graz , † January 13, 1761 in Mariahilf , today Vienna , 6th district , Mariahilfer Straße 41) was a master of fine painting in the Baroque era .
Life
After completing his training in Graz, Franz Christoph Janneck moved to Vienna in 1726 and became a student of the Kk Court Academy of Painters, Sculptors and Architecture , which is now the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, which was founded by the court painter Jacob van Schuppen in 1725 . In Frankfurt , he later went on his studies.
On June 26, 1736, he married Anna Maria Cantonin, daughter of the painter Franz Canton and Maria Elisabeth, in St. Ulrich . The best witnesses were the imperial chamber sculptor Franz Joseph Lenzbauer, as well as the painter colleagues Joseph Orient and Jacob Parbentz.
He took over the management of a special school for painting at the Vienna Academy and was rector there from 1752–1754 . Paul Troger followed him until 1757 .
High altar of the Kaisersteinbruch Church
The four preserved altars of the Kaisersteinbruch Church were stripped of all decorations and pictures after the war and the subsequent occupation (1939–1955). In the Cathedral and Diocesan Museum of the Archdiocese of Vienna there was the painting Holy Family (270 × 165 cm), painted by Franz Christoph Janneck in 1750, whose origin and owner were unknown. Ms. Sárolta Schredl, the museum director at the time, could well imagine a transfer to Kaisersteinbruch and Cardinal Hans Hermann Groër granted permission to place this picture on permanent loan in the baroque Kaisersteinbruch high altar . During assembly on June 11, 1992, it was found that the dimensions of the picture almost matched the given stone frame of the altar.
