Franz Hammerl (born October 9, 1919 - † July 30, 2001 ) was a German football player .

Hammerl played for Post SV Munich from 1929 to 1938 and although his club was overshadowed by FC Bayern Munich , TSV 1860 Munich and FC Wacker Munich , his performance was so good that at the age of 20 he already joined the Bavarian team Gauliga selection team was appointed, and that as a player of a club from the second-rate district league . In the 1939/40 season, Hammerl still played in the dress of Post SV Munich , he was used for the first time in the competition for the Reichsbund Cup in the regional team of Bavaria . He made his debut on December 3, 1939 as a 20-year-old in a 3-0 victory over the Wuerttemberg region selection team . This was followed by victories over the district selection teams Südwest and Ostmark .

Edmund Conen scored four goals and Ludwig Goldbrunner ended his international career with this game. Franz Hammerl was not able to displace the regular Albin Kitzinger in the outside runner position in the future and did not make another appearance in the national team.

Furthermore, he was in the squad of southern Germany for the representative games on May 19 and October 17, 1948 and on March 13, 1949. In his hometown of Munich, he was used on October 2, 1949 in the game against northern Germany.
