Reichsbund Cup 1939/40

The Reichsbundpokal 1940/41 was the seventh Reichsbundpokal competition. With the addition of the Gaue Danzig-West Prussia and Wartheland there was a change in the mode of the event. The selection teams of all 20 districts competed in the preliminary round, the ten winners then played five winners in an intermediate round. Of these five winners, three teams were qualified for the semi-finals, the two remaining teams played the fourth semi-finalist in an elimination game. The final, a new edition of last year's final, won this time the team from Saxony , whose basic structure consisted of players from Dresdner SC , with a 2-0 victory over Bayern . Pomerania and East Prussia each celebrated their third victory in a Gau selection game, but were eliminated in the second round without a chance. Westphalia did without players from FC Schalke 04 this season and was eliminated in the first round.
