Federal Cup 1935

The Reichsbundpokal 1935/36 was the fourth district selection competition to be held and the first to be called the Reichsbundpokal . The winner for the first time was Saxony's national team , which clearly prevailed 9-0 in a play-off against the title holder from 1934, Southwest . A play-off had become necessary because the actual final, despite a 2-0 lead by Südwest in the meantime, ended in a 2-2 draw after extra time. Defending champion Mitte was already eliminated in the preliminary round when there was a new edition of last year's final against Berlin-Brandenburg . The Westphalian team , which this season was made up entirely of players from FC Schalke 04 , which dominated in the 1930s , was eliminated again in the preliminary round. Bayern's team, which was also favored , did not reach the final either. The East Prussian team , on the other hand, achieved their first victory in the Reichsbund Cup, when Nordmark was surprisingly beaten 4-1 in the preliminary round.
