Fritz Louis von Weller (born May 3, 1848 in Brandenburg an der Havel , † November 8, 1928 ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Fritz was a son of the Prussian Major General Gustav von Weller (1820-1891) and his wife Auguste, née Schwickart (1824-1866).

Military career

Weller joined the Guard Fusilier Regiment of the Prussian Army on October 1, 1867 and was promoted to Second Lieutenant by early February 1869 . As such, he took part with the 1st Battalion in 1870/71 during the war against France in the battle of Gravelotte , the battle of Beaumont and the siege of Paris . At Sedan's he was wounded in the right hand by a gunshot.

Awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class, he was assigned to the Guard Pioneer Battalion after the peace treaty in June / July 1872 . From the middle of May to the end of September 1875 Weller served as a battalion adjutant and then completed the war academy for three years for further training . In the meantime, he was promoted to prime lieutenant , on December 3, 1881, under position à la suite of his regiment, he was transferred as a teacher to the Hanover War School and in this capacity was promoted to captain in mid-May 1882 . In June 1885 Weller took part in the general staff training trip of the X Army Corps . Weller acted from April 18, 1893 to March 21, 1897 as commander of the 2nd Battalion, was then appointed director of the Hersfeld War School under the position of his regiment and was promoted to lieutenant colonel in mid-June 1897 . During the First World War Weller was reused as Lieutenant General zD in the military government in occupied Belgium .

Weller married Klara Michels (1868–1937) on May 29, 1882. The marriage remained childless.
