history

The judicial district of Reifnitz was created as a result of a ministerial lecture on August 6, 1849, in which the main features of the court division were determined. After the territorial division of the judicial districts and the allocation of the judicial districts to the newly established district authorities had been determined by the "Political Organizing Commission" in December 1849, the district courts of Carniola began their work on June 1, 1850. In March 1850, the district court of Reifnitz assigned the 21 places Dane , Dolenja Vas (Niederndorf), Gora , Goričavas (Weikersdorf), Grčarice (measles), Hrib , Jurjovica (Jurjowitz), Gorenjavas (Oberdorf), Potiskavec (Potiskauz) ), Podtabor , Prigorica (Büchelsdorf), Rakitnica (Rakitnitz), Ribnica (Reifnitz), Retie , Sušje (Schuschie), Sodražica (Soderschitz), Travnik (Traunik), Velike Poljane (Grosspölland), Vinice (Weinitz), Zamostec (Brückel ) and Žigmarice (Schigmaritz). Together with the judicial districts of Gottschee (Kočevje) and Grosslaschitz (Velike Lašče), the judicial district of Reifnitz formed the district of Gottschee.

The judicial district had a population of 12,508 present in 1880, with 12,146 people reporting Slovene and 340 people using German as their colloquial language. In 1910 13,062 people were expelled from the judicial district, of whom 12,628 spoke Slovene (96.7%) and 301 German (2.3%). 85% of the German-speaking population of the judicial district lived in the community of Niederndorf (Dolenja Vas), with the German-speaking population in the community being divided between the two localities of Grčarske Ravne (measles) and Grčarice (measles). In measles, the German-speaking population made up 98% of the population.

Due to the border provisions of the Treaty of Saint-Germain concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Reifnitz was completely added to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.

The court district of Reifnitz comprised the ten municipalities of Dane , Gora , Jurjevica (Jurjowitz), Loški Potok (Laserbach), Dolenja Vas (Niederndorf), Ribnica (Reifnitz), Sodražica (Soderschitz), Struge (Strug) as a result of the merging of the cadastral municipalities into municipalities in 1910 , Sušje and Velike Poljane (German: Großpölland).
