The judicial district Möttling ( Slovene : sodni okraj Metlika ) was a judicial district subordinate to the district court Möttling in the Kronland Krain (region Bela krajina ) of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. It included parts of the political district of Tschernembl (Črnomelj).
history
The judicial district of Möttling was created as a result of a ministerial lecture on August 6, 1849, in which the main features of the court division were laid down. After the territorial division of the judicial districts and the allocation of the judicial districts to the newly established district authorities had been determined by the "Political Organizing Commission" in December 1849, the district courts of Carniola began their work on June 1, 1850. The District Court Möttling were by the provincial division of Krain in March 1850, the 23 cadastral Bojanja vas (Bojansdorf) Božakovo (Boschiakou) Bušinja vas (Wuschinsdorf) Črešnjevec (Kerschdorf) Dobra Vice (Dobra joke), Dola (Dule) Drašice (Draschitz ), Grabrovec (Grabrouz), Gradac (Gradaz), Hrast (Hrast bei Jugorje), Lokve (Loquitz), Krasinec (Krassinz), Metlika (Möttling), Perbiše (Perbische), Podzemelj (Podsemel), Primostek (Primostek), Radoviči (Radowitsch), Radovica (Radowitza), Rosalnice (Rosalnitz), Semič (Semitsch), Slamna Vas (Sleinndorf), Sodji Verh (Sodjewerch) and Štrekljevec (Strecklowitz). Together with the Tschernembl judicial district (Črnomelj), the Möttling judicial district formed the Tschernembl district.

The judicial district had a population of 12,071 present in 1880, with 11,758 people reporting Slovene and 172 people using German as a colloquial language. In 1910 10,656 people were expelled from the judicial district, of whom 10,275 spoke Slovene (96.4%) and 17 spoke German (0.2%).
Due to the border regulations of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Neumarktl was completely added to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
Courthouse
As a result of the merging of the cadastral municipalities into municipalities in 1910, the Möttling district comprised the 10 municipalities Božakovo (Boschiakou), Črešnjevec (Kerschdorf), Drašice (Draschitz), Gradac (Gradaz), Lokve (Lokwitz), Metlika (Möttling), Podzemelj (Podsemel), Radovica (Radowitza), Semič (Semitsch) and Suhor (Suchor).
