List of judicial districts in Carniola
This list of judicial districts in Carniola lists all former judicial districts in the Austrian crown land of Carniola .
history
The judicial districts of Carniola were determined in 1849 by the "Political Organization Commission for the Crown Land of Carniola", whereby the two regional courts Laibach and Neustadtl (later Rudolfswerth) were created for the territory of the Crown Land. These in turn were subordinate to 31 district courts. There were 17 judicial districts in Laibach and 14 in Rudolfswerth. The regional and district courts followed on June 1, 1850.
While the district courts in almost all crown lands also had administrative tasks to do, in Krain their own “district authorities” were created as early as 1849 to perform these tasks. The district offices were each assigned two or more judicial districts. When the district courts lost their administrative tasks in the entire empire in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration in 1867/68, the political administration in Carniola was reorganized in 1867.
The Crown Land Carniola fell to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia after the end of the First World War through the Treaty of Saint-Germain .
