The source of the Götsche is near Nauendorf (Kleinmerbitz) in the Saalekreis . It drains part of the municipal areas of Wettin-Löbejün and Petersberg (Saalekreis) . The Götsche has a length of 15 kilometers. Backwaters are the Nehlitzer Bach, which flows into Wallwitz, and the Gutenberger Bach , which flows into Sennewitz . The Götsche flows into an old arm of the Saale near Halle and from there into the Saale. Here it forms the border between Halle and the Saalekreis.
