Grand Prix of Choirs
The Grand Prix of Choirs is a music competition in Germany in which choirs from the individual federal states compete in the singing contest. It was organized by ZDF for the first time in 2007 and carried out again in 2008.
Grand Prix of Choirs 2007
The first Grand Prix of the choirs took place on June 7, 2007 in Cologne . Initially, a total of 550 choirs applied for this event. 150 of these were invited to five major nationwide auditions. For the finale, a live broadcast on ZDF hosted by Carmen Nebel , 16 choirs remained, one from each federal state in Germany. They presented themselves to a jury consisting of Gotthilf Fischer , Patrick Lindner and the lead singer of the band Texas Lightning , Jane Comerford and the television audience to choose the best choir. After the presentation of all 16 titles, the television viewers could decide via TED.
The winner was the Wernigerode Chamber Choir , a choir consisting of former singers from the Wernigerode Radio Youth Choir and the Wernigerode Girls Choir , with the title "Bacarole", which won a record deal with it.

Grand Prix of Choirs 2008
The second Grand Prix of Choirs took place on August 13, 2008 in Cologne. A choir from each of the 16 federal states of Germany applied for this music competition. The ZDF viewers then voted online who was allowed to present themselves at the big television finale. The number was reduced to eight finalists. The final, a live broadcast by ZDF, was hosted by Carmen Nebel. The choirs presented themselves to a jury consisting of Jane Comerford, Alexander Goebel and Mike Krüger and the television audience to choose the best choir. After the presentation of all eight titles, the television viewers could decide by TED.
The winner was the formation "HeartChoir" (choir director Julia Barbig) from Wetter in North Rhine-Westphalia with the title "Reach Out".
