Expo '92 Grand Prix (motorcycle)
The Expo '92 Grand Prix for Motorcycles was a motorcycle race for the Motorcycle World Championship .
It took place only once, on May 1st, 1988 , at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain . The Portuguese Grand Prix in Estoril was originally planned for this date , but it was canceled. It was therefore decided to hold a race in Jerez as a substitute and to compete for the World Exhibition Expo 92 , which took place in Seville in 1992 , as the Grand Prix of Expo '92.
As on the previous weekend in Jarama the Spanish Grand Prix was held, found for the first time in since 1949 two consecutive Grands Prix in the same country instead discharged Motorcycle World Championship.
In the 250 cc class, the Spaniard Juan Garriga clinched the first Grand Prix victory of his career.
With the start of the sidecar race, it began to rain. The run was then canceled and restarted later.
