Gustav von Hackewitz

Gustav Eduard Theodor von Hackewitz (born May 6, 1804 in Warsin , † July 16, 1873 in Kolberg ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

He was the son of Karl Reinhold von Hackewitz (1757-1836) and his wife Charlotte, née Blanvalet (1760-1847). His father was a captain . D. and Mr. on Warsin.

Military career

Hackewitz joined the 10th Infantry Regiment (1st Silesian) of the Prussian Army in 1820 . There he was promoted to secondary lieutenant on March 13, 1824 and attended the General War School from 1829 to 1832 . From 1836 to 1843 Hackewitz acted as regimental adjutant and in the meantime became prime lieutenant at the end of March 1841 . When he was promoted to captain on June 19, 1847, he was appointed chief of the 1st company in Breslau . On February 22, 1853, Hackewitz was transferred to Cosel as a major and commander of the 2nd battalion in the 22nd Landwehr Regiment . This was followed by a renewed use in the 10th Infantry Regiment on May 7, 1858. He became commander of the 1st Battalion in Poznan and in this capacity was promoted to lieutenant colonel on May 22, 1858 . For the duration of the mobilization on the occasion of the Sardinian War , Hackewitz was active as commander of the 10th Landwehr Regiment in 1859 and then acted as leader of the 10th Combined Infantry Regiment. The 3rd Lower Silesian Infantry Regiment (No. 50) was formed from this association at the beginning of July 1860 . Hackwitz was promoted to Colonel in command of this regiment and on October 18, 1861 he received the Order of the Red Eagle III for his services in troop leadership . Class with a bow. On the occasion of the January uprising in 1863, his regiment was made ready for war and transferred to the Polish border for security . family

Hackewitz had married Johanna Henriette von Klüx (1812-1897) on July 10, 1838 in Wilkau . She was the daughter of the Prussian major general Joseph Friedrich Karl von Klüx (1774-1816). The following children were born from the marriage:
