Princely schools
In the Duchy of Prussia , the particular schools in Lyck , Tilsit and Saalfeld were raised to the status of a princely school by a decree of February 16, 1599 , to schola illustris apud Liccenses - Tilsit for Lithuania , Saalfeld for the German territory of the Order and Lyck for Masuria . At the same time they were placed under the supervision of the Philosophical Faculty of the Albertus University in Königsberg .
