The church belongs to the parish of Betzenstein as an independent parish and was once consecrated to St. Martin , the Franconian saint. The original church dates back to the 11th century. In the 14th century, Hüll became a place of pilgrimage as part of the veneration of Mary . The current building was probably built around 1400. In 1421, Hüll was first mentioned as an early measurement. The church used to have a high tower, but it was demolished in 1820 due to its disrepair.
