The Vienna Grillgasse station is located in the 10th Viennese district of favorites on the border of the 11th district Simmering . Regional trains and S-Bahn trains on the S60 stop there .
history
At the location of today's Grillgasse stop, the Simmering station was opened on September 12, 1846 with the commissioning of the Vienna-Bruck an der Leitha railway line. During the Second World War, the line was expanded to double tracks, and a connecting track to the new central marshalling yard was also built. After the war, the Wilhelminian-style reception building was replaced by a functional building. On June 3, 1973 the line was electrified. Since September 1986 the former train station has been integrated into the parking area of the central shunting yard. Since then there has only been one stop with a central platform. The name of the station changed many times over the years: in 1913 the station was renamed Simmering Staatsbahnhof, 1922 Simmering Bundesbahnhof, 1938 Simmering Hauptbahnhof and 1939 Simmering Ostbahn. The stop has been called Grillgasse since 2002.
