Hans Joachim Nauschütz (born May 16, 1940 in Strasburg ; † March 3, 2003 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a German writer and publicist .

Life

Life and work in the GDR

Hans Joachim Nauschütz was born in Strasburg in the Uckermark in 1940 . After attending high school , he studied librarianship at the Berlin library school and then worked in his profession. In the Strausberg district he took on a position as a culture functionary and as a full-time secretary of an FDJ district leadership. During his three-year service in the National People's Army (NVA), he began writing poetry and short prose . In 1964 he joined the circle of writing soldiers in Potsdam, which met regularly in the NVA district clubhouse. Its head was the unofficial state security employee Walter Flegel . In the second half of the 1990s they jointly published anthologies .

From 1965 to 1969 Nauschütz took part in the Hans Marchwitza competitions and won various prizes. In 1971 he joined the Association of Young Authors (AJA). From the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, encouraged by Helmut Preißler and Siegfried Schumacher , he oversaw the “Writing Workers” district working group in Frankfurt (Oder), where he helped set up the literature center and started the “reading stage”. He also wrote articles for the soldiers' magazine Armeerundschau .

Nauschütz was delegated to study German and history at the Pedagogical University of Potsdam , where he was trained as a qualified teacher . He started his work as a specialist teacher for literature and methodology at the Pedagogical College in Frankfurt (Oder) and after five years switched to the Pedagogical School for Kindergarten Teachers in Waldsieversdorf . At times already freelance working, he decided in 1983 lasting for a freelance author and journalist. He wrote poetry, short prose and reports , as well as literary critical and literary theoretical contributions to literary methodology. His poems found their way into newspapers, magazines and anthologies as well as poetry broadcasts on the radio. In the New Day also prose pieces and journalistic articles appeared in the New German Literature . Song texts for preschool children were also part of his repertoire. Study visits abroad were reflected in reports and literary impressions .

Nauschütz ran a literature center and a writer's workshop. About the promotion of young talent, he said: “Discovering a talent is one of the most exciting things ever. Whether or not the gifted boys and girls become a writer, they are very exhilarating to work with. And what I experience in dealing with them is also important to me. I don't want to miss this work with the youngsters - and it's a lot of work. "

Life and work during the turning point and the time after the turning point

Nauschütz confessed to Marxism-Leninism : “What other philosophy than the Marxist-Leninist enables us to take a firm stance, to consciously and deliberately influence the changes in our lives that are to be made happily.” Looking back at the turn , he said: “It was hard to explain how this situation had arisen, which is why one opposition had formed, why the SED playful about its aspirations. "the new Germany described him as a keeper of the legacies of his defunct country, both ideologically (as a non-conformist in the new social order) as also literary (in the form of an antiquarian bookshop ). In the foreword to the book about the communist Max Hannemann , however, Nauschütz also found critical words: “There were exclusions in the GDR . In September 1991, 21 authors from Brandenburg and western Poland founded the German-Polish Literature Office Oderregion in Frankfurt (Oder). Hans Joachim Nauschütz was among them. He took over its management, organized the cooperation with the Brandenburg Literature College, became the publisher of the Frankfurter Blätter and brought together international authors, publishers and literary scholars on topics of children's and youth literature under the title “Frankfurter Symposien”. In the course of this networking, there were joint readings by German and Polish authors in both countries, as well as exhibitions and a cross-border exchange of literature as an offer for Polish and German students, as well as joint bilingual theater work with children.

Nauschütz looked after children and adolescents who were writing and supported prisoners in a correctional facility in their attempts to write. In addition, he was still active as a writer and journalist. He was a member of the Association of German Writers (VS), a member of the Friedrich Bödecker Circle and a member of the Brandenburg Literature Society.
