Heinrich Fischer (politician, 1895)
Heinrich Fischer (born July 8, 1895 in Hanau ; † August 9, 1973 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).
Life and work
After attending elementary school, Fischer completed an apprenticeship as a tool fitter and then worked in this profession. He joined the Free Trade Union in 1910, became trade union and district secretary in Hanau in 1924 and later worked as managing director of the factory workers' association in Gießen and Merseburg .
After the National Socialists came to power, Fischer was removed from office. He resumed work as a tool fitter in 1936, was charged with high treason in 1942 and then imprisoned until the end of World War II .
After the end of the war, Fischer was head of the employment office in Hanau from 1945 to 1949. In 1949 he became a land mediator in the Hessian Ministry of Labor, where he worked as a ministerial official in 1950/51.
Fischer's party had been a member of the SPD since 1910.
Deputy
Fischer was a council member of the city of Hanau and from 1946 to 1948 head of the city council. From 1946 to 1970 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament . From 1950 to 1953 and 1959/60 he was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. In the seventh electoral term of the Hessian state parliament (1966–70) he was its age-president . The state parliament elected him in 1949 as a member of the first Federal Assembly , which elected Theodor Heuss as Federal President in 1969 .
Public offices
On January 10, 1951, Fischer was appointed to the state government led by Prime Minister Georg-August Zinn as Hessian Minister of State for Labor, Agriculture and Economy . In the course of a department reorganization, he was appointed Minister of State for Labor, Economics and Transport on January 14, 1953. After forming a coalition of the SPD and GB / BHE , he left the government on January 19, 1955. From 1956 to 1962, Fischer was Lord Mayor of Hanau.

- The Heinrich Fischer House in the Mittelbuchen district was named after him. The Heinrich Fischer House was the first village community center in Hesse .
- The central swimming pool in Hanau, the Heinrich-Fischer-Bad, was named after him - also colloquially: "Hei-Fisch-Bad"
