Henning Alexander von Kahlden (born March 24, 1713 in Zicker on Rügen , † October 22, 1758 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general and head of the regiment .

Life

Henning Alexander is the founder of the Gottberg branch of the von Kahlden family . He was a son of the heir to Zicker and Tangnitz, Philipp Christian von Kahlden (1679-1732) and his wife Eleonore Charlotte, née von Bohlen (1696-1745) from the Presenske house.

Military career

At the age of 15, Kahlden began his career as a free corporal in the “von Schwerin” infantry regiment . In 1735 he was promoted to ensign and in 1738 transferred to the guards regiment at that time . In 1740 he was promoted to lieutenant in the 1st battalion in the king's regiment and a wing adjutant to Frederick II . In 1742 he was promoted to major . Kahlden distinguished himself during the Second Silesian War in particular in the Battle of Thrush , where he was wounded and then promoted to Prime Lieutenant. In February 1749, he took over the Bila'sche garrison Grenadier Battalion , was promoted there in 1750 to lieutenant colonel and in 1754 to Colonel . As such, Kahlden took part in the battles near Prague , Collin (again wounded) and Reichenberg . In 1757, Kahlden was promoted to major general. After his essential contribution in the battle of Leuthen on the right wing, Kahlden received the previously discussed infantry regiment "von Anhalt-Dessau" in 1758 . In 1749 he married Freiin Sophia Fredericke Wilhelmine von Kannenberg (1724–1806). She was the heir to Friedrich Wilhelm von Kannenberg , Hereditary Marshal of the Principality of Minden and Countess Charlotte Albertine, née Finck von Finckenstein (1706–1795). The marriage produced a daughter and three sons, two of whom continued the Gottberg branch:
