Hessentag 1978

The Hessentag 1978 was the 18th Hessentag . It lasted nine days and took place from June 24th to July 2nd, 1978 in the small town of Hofgeismar in northern Hesse . The state festival was opened by the Hessian Prime Minister Holger Börner . A total of 300,000 visitors were recorded. The Hessentag couple was represented by Doris Faßmann and Thomas Laubert. At the same time as the Hessentag, the traditional home festival and the cattle market with 700 animals took place.

Hofgeismar was again the host of the Hessentag in 2015.

Events

The highlights were the exhibitions "Huguenots in Hesse" and "Religious Art in North Hesse", which were organized by the Hessian State Archives . 1000 Bundeswehr soldiers made their vows publicly and a big tattoo took place in front of 12,000 spectators . Hessian choirs and choral societies were awarded the Zelter badge and the new stadium and the new Hofgeismar town hall were inaugurated. In two exhibitions and on a motif wagon, nature conservation was presented as a priority. Holger Börner presented the "Hessen tie" and the "Hessentuch". Jürgen Vietor , co-pilot of the Landshut passenger plane hijacked in 1977 , was the guest of honor.
