Hessentag 1995

The Hessentag 1995 was the 35th Hessentag and was welcomed with the slogan Hessian! from June 23 to July 2, 1995 in the largest city by population of the Schwalm-Eder district , Schwalmstadt instead.

The Hessentag was opened by Prime Minister Hans Eichel (SPD) and Mayor Wilhelm Kröll. Alexandra Ries and Ulrich May formed the Hessentag couple.

In addition to the traditional parade, the program also included a two-day open-air festival at the Ziegenhain airfield. For the so-called Rock Over Germany , hr3 relied on artists such as Joe Cocker , Sheryl Crow , Doc Lawrence, Elton John , Jule Neigel Band , Page & Plant , Dream Theater , Eros Ramazzotti , Status Quo , Paddy goes to Holyhead and Rod Stewart . During Festival of Zeppelins of Radio FFH , the musicians performed for example. DJ Bobo , Sally Oldfield , Smokie , Suzi Quatro and The Troggs on. Both concerts drew over 100,000 visitors. The hr3 Clubnight was on the program for the third time: on June 24, 1995 the disc jockeys Sven Väth , Mark Spoon and Pascal FEOS played .

Other events included the exhibition Schwalm motifs on boxes and eggs , the cabaret theater Chapiteau, a Broadway gala in the Hessen Palace and a circus theater for children. The Hessentagsstraße, on which more craftsmen than commercial suppliers could be found, led through Treysa. A total of around 760,000 visitors were counted over the ten days.
