Hessentag 1991

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hessentag 1991 took place from June 14 to 23, 1991 in Lorsch . The then Hessian Prime Minister Hans Eichel opened the Hessentag, supported by the Hessentag couple Christiane Schenkel and Klaus Heger. Lorsch surprisingly received the bid to host the national festival because Erbach had canceled at short notice in 1989.

During the ten days, half a million people came to Lorsch, also to experience one of the numerous performances, for example by the Rodgau Monotones or the Wildecker Herzbuben . As a celebration of short distances, the state exhibition, Hessentagstraße, the action stages and the wine village were grouped around the Lorsch Königshalle , which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list later that year .
