Location of Heuberg in Bavaria

Heuberg is a district of Weißenburg in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen with around 50 inhabitants.

geography

The Angerdorf is located on a plateau near Haardt , north of Suffersheim and south of the Ludwigswald , the Weißenburg city forest . It is around five kilometers as the crow flies to Weißenburg old town .

history

Between 1270 and 1300 Heuberg was founded by the marshals von Pappenheim as a clearing settlement after the previous settlement of Noradenberg , founded around 1200, had been destroyed. It originally consisted of eight courtyards, which were arranged around the village green with the pond and the community shepherd's house. In 1591 the hamlet became part of the Free Imperial City of Weißenburg , and it remained in their possession until 1802. Until May 1, 1978, Heuberg was together with Flemmühle , Hammermühle , Laubenthal and Potschmühle (Untere Butzmühle) a district of the former municipality of Suffersheim, which was incorporated into Weißenburg as part of the municipal reform.

Worth seeing

One of the architectural monuments in Heuberg is the single-storey residential stable house Heuberg 4 , built as a Jura house, with a flat gable roof and knee stick from the 18th or 19th century, which was renovated in 1919. There is also the two-storey residential stable house Heuberg 6 of a three-sided courtyard with flat saddle roof and knee stick from 1851. The former, single-storey shepherd's house Heuberg 5 with flat saddle roof and high knee stick consists partly of half-timbered buildings and was built in 1803. The single-storey stable house Heuberg 8 from 1764 with a half-timbered barn from 1775 is a former farm .
