The place is located 2½ kilometers directly south of Grieskirchen. It is located on the B 135  Gallspacher Straße , a street village at about 800 meters with a few locations off the beaten track, at around 340  m above sea level. A.  Height. The Leitnerbach also flows north-eastwards and flows 1½ km further into the Trattnach .

The two localities comprise almost 30 buildings with around 100 inhabitants, the majority of them in the Grieskirchener Rotte , north ( left ) of the Leitnerbach, the rest in the localities, which extend northwards over the Riedl to the L1192 Jörger Straße and the Steinbach , and to the Trattnach between the mouths of the two brooks, and the scattered houses of Schlüßlberg.

In terms of landscape, the area is part of the Inn- and Hausruckviertel hill country .

history

The -ing -name ( here- then to a personal name ) shows the old settlement from the time of the Bavarian conquest around the 8th century, Grieskirchen is first documented in 1075.

The farm Ochsenberger against Grieskirchen out (1667/9 as Oxnberg ) was in the 17th century. A noble patio ., More old farmsteads are Hiering itself (Hiering 2, Grieskirchen), Wolf and Hauer , Roith south, the high Riener am Riedl, the Ochsenberger and the Bruckmayer am Leitnerbach against Unterberg.
In the early 19th century, Hiering belonged to the parish district of Grieskirchen in the Parz district commissioner .

The B 135 was originally the Grieskirchen-Gallspach-Höfter district road, Unternberg - Höft , and was a federal road from 1973 to 2002 .
