The rearmost head at Bodenrod in the Hessian Wetteraukreis is 491.1  m above sea level. NHN high elevation in the Taunus low mountain range .

geography

location

The wooded Hinterste Kopf is located in the northeast of the Eastern Hintertaunus in the Taunus Nature Park . Located in the Butzbach forest , its summit rises 1.7 km northeast of Bodenrod (to Butzbach in the Wetteraukreis ), 2 km southwest of Espa (to Langgöns ; district of Gießen ) and 1.7 km (depending on the beeline ) southeast of Weiperfelden ( Waldsolms ; Lahn -Dill circle ).

Neighboring mountains

Neighboring elevations of the rearmost head are of 1.3 km south-southwest located Hesselnberg (about  518  m ) with its northern neighboring peak Gickel ( 505.1  m ) and then in a northeast direction to the hindmost head via conductive hornbeam head ( 492.3  m ) of Hausberg ( 485.7  m ) located 2.8 km to the east and the Bruler Berg ( 424.2  m ) located 1.9 km (as the crow flies) east-southeast .

Watershed and rivers

The Hinterste Kopf lies on the watershed between the Lahn and Main , two tributaries of the Rhine . To the north, the upper reaches of the Lahn tributary Solmsbach , which rises in Espa and is fed by the Eichelbach, which flows northwards to the west of the Bodenrod elevation , runs roughly in an east-west direction near the source. To the southeast lies the source of the Fauerbach , whose water reaches the Main through the Usa and Wetter , and to the east flows past the upper reaches of the small Fauerbach tributary Issel , which rises on the nearby local mountain.

Natural allocation

The Hinterste Kopf belongs to the natural area main unit group Taunus (No. 30), in the main unit Östlicher Hintertaunus (302) to the natural area Bodenroder Kuppen (302.2).

Transport links

To the north past the Hintersten Kopf along the Solmsbach between Espa and Weiperfelden the state road  3053 runs, to the west the L 3270 runs between Bodenrod and Weiperfelden. The European long-distance hiking trail E3 leads over the elevation .
