Weiperfelden is a district of the municipality of Waldsolms in the south of the Lahn-Dill district in central Hesse .
Geographical location
Weiperfelden is located in the eastern Hintertaunus (Bodenroder Kuppen) , within the Taunus Nature Park in the forest-lined upper Solmsbach valley. In the southeast are the 491.1 m above sea level. NN high Hinterster Kopf and the 492.3 m high Hainbuchenkopf , in the south-southeast lie the 505.1 m high Gickel and the approximately 518 m high Hesselberg . The largest part of the district boundary is also the municipality boundary, namely to Langgöns in the north and Butzbach in the south.
Neighboring towns are Bodenrod (south), Hasselborn (south-west), Brandoberndorf (north-west) and Espa (east).
history
In the spelling Walpurgeuelde , the place can be traced back to the year 1207. This early mention of Weiperfelden is one of the first in the upper Solmsbachtal.
To the east of the village, copper, silver, lead and gold were mined over several centuries - in the Silbersegen mine .
On December 31, 1971, the independent community of Weiperfelden merged with another five communities to form the new large community of Waldsolms as part of the Hessian regional reform .
