The Huntloser Moor is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Großenkneten in the Oldenburg district .
The nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 079 is 150 hectares in size. It has been under nature protection since April 12, 1942. It is largely from the conservation area surrounded "Great Moor". On December 17, 1994, the nature reserve was expanded to its present size by parts of the nature reserve in the Great Moor. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Oldenburg.
The nature reserve is located northeast of Großenkneten and south of the Großenkneten district of Huntlosen in the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park . The moor , a spring and swamp moor, is part of the former Great Moor, which was located on the edge of the Cloppenburger Geest in the glacial valley of the Hunte . In 1870 the Huntlos Moor was separated from the Great Moor for peat extraction .
In the vicinity of the 31 hectare nature reserve, however, peat continued to be extracted, during which the moor was further drained. In 1987 rewetting began to protect the bog .
In the nature reserve there are u. a. Swamp forests , bog heaths , wet fallow and wet grassland . Parts of the nature reserve are used for agriculture and forestry.
