The Tannersand and Gierenberg is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Hatten in the Oldenburg district .

The nature reserve with the label NSG WE 066 is around 35  hectares and largely coincides with the FFH area of the same name . It is completely from the conservation area surrounded "state forest Alt-Osenberge, Wunderhorn, Oldenburg sand, sand Tanner and adjacent areas". The area has been a nature reserve since December 27, 1938. On December 22, 2018, the 29.6 hectare nature reserve in the Gierenberg area was expanded to its present size. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Oldenburg.

The nature reserve is located south of Oldenburg in the part of the Osenberge between Sandkrug and Sandhatten in the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park . It represents a predominantly with stock with conifers inland dunes area under protection, in which several Slatts with cotton grass peat moss- quaking and torfmoosreichen marshes and ponds are embedded with Strandlings- and dwarf rush vegetation. The waters are often surrounded by pronounced siltation zones. The bog locations are home to various peat mosses such as the middle peat moss , bell heather , white schnabelried , narrow-leaved and Scheidiges cottongrass , round-leaved sundew and common cranberries , as well as gray sedge and beak sedge . They are the habitat of raised bog mother- of- pearl butterflies , raised bog blue and peat bog owl. At margins are sand heaths with heather and crowberry and bilberry and various mosses to find. Here is z. B. the smooth snake native.
