description
The Glaner Heide is an area of 15.9 hectares south of the Hunte , southwest of Dötlingen . The nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 071 consists essentially of a heather area with six graves from the Neolithic and Bronze Age (" Glaner Braut "). In the edge areas there are pine - or birch - oak forests. The aim of the protection is the preservation of the near-natural gorse- sand heather societies, the culturally and historically significant graves as well as the locations of endangered plant communities.
history
By ordinance of September 30, 1939, the Glaner Heide area was declared a nature reserve. The district of Oldenburg is responsible as the lower nature conservation authority.
