The Große Höhe is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon communities of Ganderkesee and Prinzhöfte in the Oldenburg district .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 317 is approximately 89  hectares . It is almost completely part of the FFH area "Delmetal between Harpstedt and Delmenhorst". In the northwest, it borders the conservation area "Delmetal". The area has been under nature protection since July 6, 2019. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Oldenburg.

The nature reserve is located southwest of Delmenhorst within the site training area of the sergeant-Lilienthal-Kaserne. It protects an inland dune area in the Delmenhorster Geest with predominantly dry oak forests, sandy open ground locations, poor grassland and heather . In addition, pioneer forests of birch and quivering aspen and a coniferous forest can be found within the boundaries of the protected area.

The oak forests are dominated by the common oak . In the herb layer, among other things, bilberries , wire smiths and pipe grass settle . The oak forests have a high proportion of old and dead wood . The grasslands accommodate z. B. Sharp buttercups , meadow sorrel , stork grass , red fescue and ridge grass . The heaths are primarily made up of common heather . There are also crowberries , blueberries and lingonberries . Various lichens and mosses also settle here .

The nature reserve is crossed by a public road. In the west it borders on the glider airfield Große Höhe.
