IC 3383 is a lenticular dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 80 million light years from the Milky Way and about 20,000 light years across. She is listed as a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster under catalog number VCC 1075 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4442 , IC 3361 , IC 3374 , IC 3412 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
