IC 3646 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 with extensive star formation regions in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is an estimated 289 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter. Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with IC 3644 .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 3632 , IC 3640 , IC 3641 , IC 3642 .
The object was discovered by Max Wolf on March 23, 1903 .
