IC 3643 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SB in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 548 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4606 , IC 810 , IC 3635 , IC 3663 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 10, 1904 .
