IC 5084 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 137 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter. Together with NGC 7020 , IC 5096 , IC 5092 , PGC 66319 and PGC 66376 , it forms the IC 5096 group or LGG 443 .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 7020 .
The Type Ib Supernova SN 2005br was observed here.
The property was discovered by DeLisle Stewart in 1899 .
