NGC 7020 = NGC 7021 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 139 million light years from the Milky Way and about 145,000 light years in diameter. Together with IC 5096 , IC 5084 , IC 5092 , PGC 66319 and PGC 66376 , it forms the IC 5096 group or LGG 443 .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 5084 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on August 31, 1836 .
