NGC 7001 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sab in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 324 light years from the Milky Way and about 130,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered on July 21, 1827 by John Herschel .
