IC 624 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Sextant south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 218 million light years from the Milky Way and about 180,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 4, 1893 .
