IC 608 is a galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type S? pec in the constellation Sextant south of the celestial equator . It is around 495 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 115,000 light years .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 4, 1893 .
