IC 600 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBdm in the constellation Sextant south of the ecliptic . It is around 51 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 40,000 light years .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 3, 1893 .
