IC 584 is a bar-spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type SBab in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is around 355 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 105,000 light years .
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3048 , NGC 3053 , NGC 3094 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 16, 1893 .
