IC 599 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type SBc in the constellation Sextant south of the ecliptic . It is around 222 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 75,000 light years .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 4, 1890 .
