IC 615 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is around 429 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 140,000 light years .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3217 , IC 612 , IC 613 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on April 18, 1893 .
