IC 585 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is around 313 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 120,000 light years .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 3080 .
The object was discovered on March 18, 1890 by Guillaume Bigourdan .
