IC 574 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Sextant south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 265 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 100,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 3035 , NGC 3064 , IC 575 , among others .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on March 9, 1893 .
