IC 559 is a galaxy of Hubble type S? in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 19 million light years from the Milky Way and about 5,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on April 13, 1893 and later listed by Johan Dreyer in his index catalog .
